Use a Video from Your Smartphone or Tablet

This guide walks through how you can use a video you record on your device that is not in the OneDay app yet.

You can now upload any video from your device to apply your community's logos, themes, and music. This means you can...

  • Take impromptu videos at an event
  • Capture in-the-moment videos of residents and add music later
  • Incorporate pre-recorded tour videos in a thank you follow-up
  • Pre-record an "About Us" video from your CEO  and use it for cold prospects

Note: This can only be done on your phone or tablet, not on a computer.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Open the OneDay app.

  2. Tap Create a New Story.
  3. Select Sales and Marketing or a Resident.
  4. On the Select Story screen, navigate to which story you want to create.
  5. Choose the prompt or question that your video matches. (Example: You have a video of a resident talking about how much they love their mother. Navigate to the "My Mother" story, with the prompt that says, "What do you love most about your mother?")
  6. Tap the button on the bottom left of the screen with the Film Strip icon.

The icon looks like this:

Next Steps:

  1. From here, you'll see your camera roll and can choose the appropriate video.
  2. The app will compress your video and add it to your story.
  3. You can add multiple videos by choosing, "Record another moment" and scrolling to a different prompt.
  4. When you're ready to make the video, tap, "Save & Create Story" Then share as normal.

Note: Right now you can only import videos, not still images.
