Download a Video to Your Computer

This guide walks through downloading stories as a MP4 to your Computer. 

This is helpful if you want to email the actual file to someone, upload the video on YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or embed it on a website.

Note: the file will be MP4 - not any other movie format.

Step-by-Step Guide

Connect from Your Email

  1. Once you have recorded a video, click the arrow to right in the top right-hand corner.

  2. Now you should be on the Share Story screen. Tap [+Add Recipient] and enter your own email address. 

  3. Click [Upload and Send Invite]. 

  4. On your computer, open the email containing your OneDay video and click on the link.

  5. Then follow the steps below.

Connect with the online portal

  1. Once a video has been recorded and shared, log into the OneDay for Senior Living CMS website with your credentials.

  2. Select your community, click on the video you’d like to download.

  3. Then follow the steps below.

Next Steps:

  1. Click the "Share" Button
  2. Then a red button with a download image will appear. Click the red button.
  3. The file will automatically begin to download to your computer.

Note:  If you are using Google Chrome, you will see your video downloading at the bottom of your browser. If you don’t see the video downloading, you may need to enable pop-ups.


The filename will be "video" so if you do not see the download begin, search on your computer for that name. Oftentimes it will go directly to your download folder, but depending on your settings it may be in Documents or even the Desktop.

You can open your video in any video editing software, attach it to an email, upload it to social media or youtube/vimeo, etc. The video will also remain on your OneDay app in case you want to share it through our platform ever again.
